Tamarama Penthouse

The brief for this four-bedroom beachside apartment was to create a lavish, layered interior full of colour and glamour. The client was keen to move away stylistically from the existing white minimalist interior and draw on the vivid greens she loves in an island-themed painting that now hangs in the sitting room. For Greg Natale Design, these greens – together with the warm golden tones of the travertine floors and the abundance of natural light – provided the starting point for a design that brings luxe LA style to the Sydney shores. The apartment walls are painted a pale seafoam green throughout, interspersed with variations and concentrations of the hue in the artworks, a green-tiled splashback in the kitchen, and stunning hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper in the living room. Here, velvet-upholstered armchairs pick up the soft green tones, while a Dorothy Draper sofa offers contrast in warm camel-hued leather.
