About the Item

The Roger Dubuis Sympathie Perpetual Calendar Biretrograde (N.72 5772) is encased in a 38 mm of rose gold surrounding a silver-white dial on a black genuine Roger Dubuis strap. Features of this Roger Dubuis includes Geneva Hallmark stamp, hours, minutes, seconds, perpetual calendar, retrograde day, retrograde date, leap year, month display, and moonphase. Circa 2000. Very fine, cushion shaped, center seconds, self- winding, water-resistant, 18K pink gold Chronometer wristwatch with bi-retrograde perpetual calendar, moon phases, age of the moon and an 18K pink gold Roger Dubuis deployant clasp.. Three-body, solid, polished & brushed, concave lugs with screwed gold bars, correctors in the band, transparent case back with 8 screws and etched crystal, concave stepped bezel, sapphire crystals. Off-white lacquered with applied pink gold faceted square indexes, outer 1/5th seconds track, subsidiary dials at 12 for the months and the leap years, on the sides, sectors for the retrograde days of the week and of the month, at 6 graduation for the age of the moon concentric with the aperture for the moon phases. Pink gold alpha hands. Cal. 5772 stamped with the Seal of Geneva quality mark, rhodium- plated, fausses cotes decoration, 29 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring, index regulator. This is an early production Roger Dubuis in it’s trademark “Sympathie” case where the dial & sapphire crystal are follows the form of the case (later ones have round dials & glass). It is fitted with a Lemania based movement that’s heavily reworked, timed in five positions & finished to Geneva Seal standard. The rear exhibition glass has the RD logo etched from the inside. This is a highly collectible timepiece that can rival Patek Philippe’s Ref.3970 as both share the same concept & quality in finishing. Both are based on the same movement. In fact, this watch has a higher complication as it presents the day & date in retrograde style.
