About the Item

The blue sapphire and diamond entourage ring is a classic in the world of engagement rings. Especially in recent years, it's seen another surge in popularity: Kate Middleton wears such a vintage piece, made by Garrard, formerly jeweller to the royal court – a precious jewel which had once been Diana's engagement ring. The ring at hand is made in a very similar style. Amidst an entourage of fine white diamonds, it presents a deep blue sapphire in a slightly oval-shaped form. The sapphire is an especially precious specimen, seeing as it is untreated and shows a beautiful deep, naturally occurring colour: a rare find on today's market, and a guarantee of stable value. Its natural origin is also certified by a renowned independent gemmological institute. The stones are set in a white gold setting typical of 1970s entourage rings. They sit on an airy gallery, allowing for the light to bring out the full brilliance and fire of the diamonds, and thus intensify the central stone's blue. The sapphire is beautifully transparent, showing no inclusions to the naked eye. As dealer's of antique jewellery, however, we do not merely look out for beauty.
