1940s Era, 18 Karat White Gold, Cabochon Opal, and Diamond Ring

This unique white gold ring was made by the jewellery house 'Grima' and features a sizeable boulder opal set with diamonds on a triangular shank. The grooved tapered shank sweeps up to a point where there is a triangular cabochon 'boulder' opal which is claw set and surrounded by 10 round brilliant cut diamonds. Each of the diamonds in the ring are of I colour and SI clarity and total 0.45 carat and have been accented with a ball and wire feature style setting. Grima is the jewellery house founded by Andrew Grima who notably created jewels for The Queen, Princess Margaret and Princess Anne. An impressive vintage French 5.35 carat high zircon and 0.25 carat diamond, 0.24 carat emerald and 18 karat white gold, platinum set cluster ring; part of our diverse gemstone jewelry collections. This fine and impressive unusual zircon ring has been crafted in 18k white gold with a platinum setting. The ring has a cluster arrangement displaying a feature 5.35Ct Old European round cut high zircon in relief to the center of the design. The high zircon is encircled by six round cut emeralds, displayed alternately between six Old European round cut diamonds. The pierced decorated, flared and elevated ring shoulders bifurcate and integrate with the main setting, amalgamating to form the multi-stranded shank. The ring is hallmarked to the outer surface of the shank with the French hallmarks for 18k gold (eagle's head), platinum (dog's head) and the lozenge shaped maker's mark.
