Art Deco Emerald and Diamond Ring
About the Item
An Art-Deco emerald and diamond ring, the octagonal-cut emerald weighing approximately 2.1 carats accompanied by GCS Report stating to be of Colombian origin, surrounded by ten round old-cut and two old cushion-cut diamonds weighing approximately a total of 2.5 carats, all vertically millegrain-set to a platinum mount with yellow gold back with diamond-set shoulders to a yellow gold shank, circa 1920, the head measuring approximately 2.2x1.4cm, gross weight 4.6 grams. Finger size N 1/2
This ring is in very good condition. Minor abrasion to the emerald consistent with age and use. Unmarked tested as 18ct gold and platinum.
This glamorous Art Deco ring, made in the early 1920s, comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. An excellent example of jazz-age design and taste, this ring features a bright, vivid, and impressively sized central emerald flanked by two gorgeous, scintillating old cushion-cut diamonds. Further lively diamonds frame the emerald and stud the shoulders of the ring. This ring makes a gorgeous and dramatic statement and would make an exceptional and unusual engagement ring.
