Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Oval Cabochon Necklace with Black Enamel in 18K Gold
About the Item
Andrew Glassford's Museum Series Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Necklace in 18K Yellow Gold. The 16 carat Oval Turquoise is surrounded by two rows of Black enamel to create a stunning effect. Sleeping Beauty Turquoise was mined in Arizona but are no longer open to mine turquoise, so this oval cabochon was created in 2019 from old rough purchased prior to 2012. The pendant is 28mm in length by 23mm in height. It is mounted on a 3.5mm 18K Gold link chain that is 18 inches in length. The necklace can easily be worn shorter by clipping the clasp through one of the links.

Andrew Glassford
Andrew Glassford has a long-tenured career in financial services, but was looking to
strike a creative balance. To tap into his love of design, he founded Andrew Glassford
Jewels after studying at L’École Van Cleef & Arpels and Gemology Institute of America. Raised in Laredo, Texas, Glassford is strongly influenced by the Mexican border culture,
which is most evident in his bold use of color in all of his collections. A brooch worn by
his mother for over forty years inspired his first piece, “El Pescado,” which is seen in
different versions throughout his premier collection. He also finds design ideas in
uncommon places throughout his travels, such as the architecture in Beijing’s Forbidden
City, museums around the world and desert blooms throughout the California desert.
These inspirations, coupled with Glassford’s respect for the precious stones he
incorporates, is evident in the evolution of his designs.
