Jade Pendant in Lavender Impressionistic Carving

Of all the fine carved jade pendants I have encountered over my many years of collecting this fascinating stone, I have never encountered lapidary work as you see here with this pendant. From a distance, you see a luscious cluster of lavender grapes and a smattering of glassy green chalcedony stones. Up close, what you notice are the carving marks used to create this pendant, making it look far more like a Rembrandt painting than a jade pendant. It's absolutely fascinating.
This lavender jade pendant was created in the previous Midcentury, probably around 1950. The jade is certified to be natural and untreated jadeite from Burma and the green gems are natural chalcedony. The jade carving measures 37.73mm x 22.15mm and is 12.46mm thick, so it's quite a large pendant. Including the bail, the pendant measures 56mm from top to bottom, 28mm from side to side. The 18K white gold bail is in the form of a festive ribbon tied with bows -or leaves- and set with numerous tiny white brilliant diamonds. The opening for the bail is 4.45mm x 6.40mm so it will handle a chunky chain or cord. The pendant ships without a chain.
An artistic, one-of-a-kind jadeite carving in the most succulent violet color. Ships with a certificate from Stone Group Labs stating that the pendant is untreated jadeite from Burma (Myanmar).
