About the Item
A beautiful carved coral necklace designed as a graduated line of twenty-nine oval coral cameos carved in high relief, most likely by the master engravers of Torre del Greco in Naples. each framed in gold enhanced at intervals with raised gold flowers. Mounted in 18k and 14k yellow gold.
Circa 1870, unmarked. Sold with a period box.
15 in. (38.1 cm.) long; central cameo 1 in. (2.5 cm.) long, including mount.
Condition: Good. Necklace should be handled with care as mounts are fragile.
