About the Item
A stunning Rainbow Moonstone 18" necklace features a faceted oval gemstone set in 22k gold. The necklace can be worn two ways; the traditional way with the clasp in the back or highlighting the clasp wearing it in front of off to one side. Top quality rainbow moonstone. Perfect to wear alone or paired with other necklaces. The necklace has a hook closure.
Moonstone exhibits the optical phenomenon known as ‘Adularescence,’ which causes the extraordinary glow on its surface. Ancient cultures coveted the stone, believing it was created from moon beams. It is known to give gifts of prophecy and clairvoyance to the wearer.

Ico & the Bird Fine Jewelry
Ico & the Bird Fine Jewelry was founded by designer Juliana Domenico (’Ico’) Carr and inspired by her world travels, searching for the most beautiful and unique gemstones to incorporate into her designs. Gemstones have always been a passion for the designer. She spent the first five years of her life in Brazil, a country known for some of the worlds’ most striking and rare stones, and her earliest memories were of playing with giant, loose aquamarines in her mother’s jewelry box and arranging them into designs. Working primarily in 22k matte gold and hand-picked gemstones, Juliana works with master craftsmen from around the world employing ancient gold smithing techniques in the creation of singular pieces that will be treasured for generations. Juliana holds an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from The George Washington University. She also holds a Graduate Gemology (GG) degree from The Gemological Institute of America and Graduate Fine Arts from UCLA.
