About the Item
Unique necklace of 5 stations of 8 MM Amethyst alternating with 4 stations of 8 MM Sparkling White genuine Zircons. The 14K white gold rhodium plated Sterling Silver chain upon which they are mounted is just the right amount of silver to enhance these gorgeous gemstones. The 5 Amethysts total 7.9 carats. The 4 Zircons total 14.08 carats. The gemstones are situated approximately 1.5 inches apart so as to be nicely spaced all the way around the 17.5 inch necklace. This elegant handmade necklace is a must have to wear everyday and all evening. Amethyst is the February birthstone and is said to protect from intoxication and evil spells. It will calm your spirit and give you focus. Pure quartz is colorless, but the most prized variety is Amethyst, the purple variety. It's always been considered a 'royal color' and is featured in the British Crown jewels. It was also a favorite of Catherine the Great and Egyptian royalty. It has long been used in Christian jewelry and in the Christian seasons of Lent and Advent. All this and being absolutely beautiful, what's not to love!!

Kathy lives by the motto, "Go Big or Go Home," and fell in love with jewelry design when she met founder Hans Stern, a pioneer in designing jewelry with Brazil's vibrantly colored gemstones, Mr. Stern invited her to his workroom, shared his expertise - and she was hooked. Martha and Kathy met while living in Rio de Janeiro and they have been design partners and friends ever since.
