A Pair of Natural Pearl and Diamond Gold Earrings by Jewelry Designer, Sarah Ho. Natural Pearls (76 pcs) from an antique Basra Pearl necklace with two pear cut H VS diamonds of 1.01ct and 1ct and 3.36ct round diamonds set in 18kt white gold. The Pearls are fully drilled as they were once strung as a necklace - they are set with a diamond on the outer edge of the earring. This is an iconic piece for the brand - showcasing Sarah's signature style of bold, elegant shapes with the choice of natural pearls applied in a bead-like fashion with pear-cut diamonds and flowing lines of pave diamonds. The silhouette is daring but sophisticated, the statement impact of the design balanced with the lightweight frame for a comfortable wear. Height is 60mm by width 45mm Natural pearls are incredibly rare, only 1 in 10,000 (non-farmed) oysters will ever produce a pearl, and only a small fraction of those will be of gem quality. Before the creation of the cultured pearl by Mikimoto in 1893, pearl divers would search the depths of the Arabian Gulf to seek out these jewels of the sea. The island of Bahrain was the centre of trade for these gems, and it remains today the capital for Natural pearls. These natural Basra pearls are from an antique necklace of matching color graduated pearls. The term Basra Pearls means that the pearls originate from the Persian Gulf in the Middle East and were traded in Basra when they were first found. These pearls are much lighter in color and scatter light in a unique way. These pearls have been certified by the World's leading authority on natural pearls - Danat, located in Bahrain. This piece will be accompanied by the Danat card certificate for this piece and a copy of the original certificate for the original necklace. These earrings weight 10g each - which is comfortable. We find anything above 19g uncomfortable so all our pieces stay below this. These earrings are for pierced ears but can be altered for non-pierced ears.
