Larter Edwardian Black Mother of Pearl 9-Piece Cufflink Set

About the Item

A lovely 9-piece cufflink set by Larter & Sons from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! The ensemble includes a pair of cufflinks and 7 matching shirt studs, a complete men's set. Each link has a black Mother of Pearl surface, which rests in a 14kt gold setting topped in platinum. The black Mother of Pearl shell displays a shimmery high-luster surface, with soft iridescent colors in shades of green and pink. Delicate hand-engraved detail accents each border, a perfect finishing touch. A gold infinity link connects the cufflinks in the back. All of the shirt studs have secure push pin underneath. The reverse side of each link is stamped "14K" along with the Larter & Sons signature hallmark symbol. The set comes in the original blue antique box, which reads: "JOHN WANAMAKER Philadelphia Jewelers & Silversmiths - New York - Paris - London" inside the lid. A classic gentleman's cufflink and stud set by a celebrated maker, it would look wonderful worn on special occasions! The faces of the cufflinks and largest shirt studs measure 1/2" in size. The medium studs measure 3/8" in size, and the smallest studs measure 1/4". The space between each cufflink is 5/8" long. Each stud pin measures 3/4" to 7/8" long. The overall condition of the set is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum topped gold setting, or to the black Mother of Pearl plaques. The shirt studs and cufflink connectors are secure. The original box shows normal signs of surface wear, but remains in acceptable antique condition.
