Sculptural brooch designed by Giò Pomodoro (1930-2002). A beautiful and rare unique piece of wearable art, created in Italy by the artist Giò Pomodoro, back in the late 1956. This sculptural brooch has been crafted with abstract patterns as single piece by the lost wax method in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with textured surfaces. Fitted at the reverse with a hinged pin bar with a security mechanical lock. Can be wear also as a pendant Weight: 12.65 Grams, (10.87 Dwt). Measurements: 40 mm by 34 mm (1.57 x 1.34 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed, "G. POM(ODORO) .750 56". Giò Pomodoro, was an Italian sculptor, jeweler, printmaker, and stage designer. His brother is the sculptor and architect Arnaldo Pomodoro. In 1954 he moved to Milan, where he associated with leading avant-garde artists and started making jewelry. He then began to produce reverse reliefs in clay and also formed assemblages of various materials, including wood, textiles, and plaster subsequently cast in metal. During the 1960s, he developed several series of sculptures, which explored a range of abstract shapes, usually with smooth undulating surfaces. Pendant-Brooch designed by Henning Koppel (1918-1981) for Georg Jensen. An aerodynamic vintage piece of the Spatialism art movement (1947-). This Henning Koppel design was conceived after the war in the 1948, following the parameters of the new Spatialism art manifest. The creation of this pieces was part of an extensive series of studios and was finally created into jewelry around 1950 in Denmark. Gold pieces was produced in extremely very limited editions. It was carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with high polished finish and is suited at the reverse, with a hinged vertical steam with a security lock to be used as a brooch and a loop to be used into a collar or chain. This piece is the model number 1339, the biggest produced and have a total weight of 27.3 Grams (without wire, not included) and a measures are 60 by 49 mm (2.4 by 2 inches). This pendant-brooch was designed as a carnation flower, with brutalism patterns by the famous jeweler Emil Meister. Totally crafted as a one-of-a-kind, in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and palladium. Suited at the reverse, with a pair of hinged pins with two trombone locks to be wear as a pin and a rectangular movable loop to be hanged into a chain. The petals are decorated back and front, with brushed crisscross Florentine finish and was applied by a very talented practiced engraver.
