About the Item
A demantoid garnet and diamond brooch by Bentley & Skinner, in the form of a dragonfly, the en tremblant wings and body encrusted with old brilliant-cut diamonds weighing a total of 6.91 carats, and round faceted dematoid garnets weighing a total of 3.91 carats, mounted in silver and yellow gold, hallmarked 18ct gold and silver, London, 2021, made by Bentley & Skinner, measuring approximately 7.2 x 8.5cm, gross weight 34 grams.
This brooch is in perfect condition.
This spectacular brooch was made by Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This piece draws inspiration from Victorian insect brooches of a similar style, impressive in size and set throughout with diamonds and colourful stones. Bright and mossy green demantoid garnets encrust the body of the dragonfly and meet lively and sparkling diamonds to encrust the wings. The wings are set “en tremblant”, meaning “to tremble”. Small springs allow the wings to quiver and move delicately with every movement the wearer makes, bringing this magnificent piece to life. A fabulous and bright statement piece.
Should you choose to make this purchase we will delighted to send it to you in a Bentley & Skinner handmade leather case packed in a gift-wrapped Bentley & Skinner black and gold presentation box. Shortly afterwards we will send you on a valuation for insurance purposes for your reference and safekeeping.
