GIA Certified Jade Ring with "Imperial" Coloring in Dense 22 Karat Setting

About

If second-place isn't good enough for you; if "can't" isn't in your vocabulary and if you want the finest jade ring currently available on the world market, this is the ring you want. If you see a ring with a superior GIA Certified natural and untreated jadeite jade stone, I urge you to purchase it. "Imperial Jade" is among the most misapplied descriptors used in the jewelry industry. True Imperial Jade should be the emerald green of the impressive stone you see and possess not merely translucency but be semitransparent. The old-mine jadeite jade stone in this ring is highly translucent. But not semitransparent, thus it's only 99.9% imperial jade—still impossibly rare. The rich, saturated and even color of this large (17.40 mm x 12.18 mm x 4.84 mm) double cabochon is reminiscent of my favorite emerald from the legendary Muzo mines, sixty-miles north from Colombia's capital city of Bogotá. Jadeite jade of this specific hue with this degree of saturation, evenness of tone and high translucency is maddeningly elusive. It's the stuff of legends. Not the stuff you actually see for sale in stores. The original setting was unstable so I designed the ring mounting myself and commissioned a Manhattan jeweler to fabricate it for me. I chose 22 karat gold for its rich color. And because gold of this purity is soft compared to platinum or lower carat gold, I designed a very thick, substantial band. At its thinnest point at the rear of the shank, the band is 1.75 mm thick and increases to 3.67 mm near the stone. Six substantive claws grip the jade cabochon and hold it securely in place. Jade is among the most durable gems. And this weighty (16 grams) ring was designed to be worn by an active person every day. In fact, I specifically designed this ring to survive for hundreds of years. This jadeite stone has such "life" to it. It changes throughout the day and is freshly beautiful each moment. It is a size 9 and could be resized by a fine jeweler. All the images were taken in natural light. The last image breaks the "white background" rule but really shows you what the ring looks like sitting on a red silk box in my office, backlit by late afternoon sun. That's what we're talking about here. Most people will only see jade this fine on the cover of an auction house catalog. And it could be on your hand. It could become a family heirloom. This opportunity is now a reality. What a man's engagement ring this would make! Or a wedding band alternative. Or a ring for a woman who does not want a frilly, delicate setting but does want the best jade. What a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own one of the most spectacular pieces natural, untreated, GIA-certified jade to enter the market in years. Ships with GIA report (#1146974457)
