About the Item

The Asscher cut diamond shape is named after the company that created it. Joseph Isaac Asscher founded the I.J. Asscher diamond company in 1854 Holland, naming it after his son. The Asscher cut was created in 1902 by Joseph Isaac’s grandson, also named Joseph. The cut is similar to an emerald cut in a square shape, however Joseph Asscher modified certain criteria of the cut to leverage the beauty found within rough diamonds and product a more brilliant diamond. These criteria included larger step facets, a higher crown, and smaller table. The result is a diamond that has more weight than other cuts and a classic look. The cut has 58 facets and a wider set than a traditional emerald cut. The cropped corners give the Asscher-cut diamond the appearance of an octagon shape and a distinguished look that is often imitated but never duplicated. The piece has just been totally refurbished to its original mint condition. It has been jeweled, in an elevated basket setting, with a 1.29ct GIA certified natural Ascher-cut diamond as its magnificent center stone. The High-end near-colorless diamond has an I color and VS2 clarity. Flanking the center stone, on both sides of the shank, are a total of two natural tapered baguette-cut diamonds. The elevated gallery really promotes maximum light refraction on this dazzling diamond. Custom-made to fit this engagement ring perfectly is a matching solid 14k white gold ring enhancer. The design is that of two matching diamond wedding bands connected to create a solid piece the engagement ring can perfectly slide into. The enhancer has been jeweled with a total of four matching tapered baguette diamonds to line up exactly with the engagement ring. The specifications on all of the accent diamonds in the set match the center stone perfectly in color and clarity. The estimated total carat weight of the entire ring set is 1.75ct. Together, the ring set is 7.3mm in width, weighs 8.2grams, and has a ring finger size of a 5.75. However, for a modest fee, our master jeweler can adjust the size to meet most specifications.
