Details & Condition: Art Deco engagement rings recall an era of glamour and sophistication: elegant and timeless, this ring checks all those boxes. Purchased in New York in 1925 this magnificent diamond engagement ring is believed to be from Dreicer & Co of Fifth Ave - they were one of the top luxury jewelry retailers in America during the first quarter of the 20th century - despite having no hallmarks (there is a dedication on the interior instead) the workmanship / construction is unmistakable. The center of the ring features a stunning geometric 6 sided modified diamond with a fancy step cut, accenting are eight French Calibre cut Diamonds and a halo of twenty small square natural Sapphires that are perfectly matched and they have a beautiful blue hue and excellent saturation. There are a further thirty six round diamonds (approx 0.0025 ct. per stone) surrounding the center diamond and on the low set prongs The size is a USA 6. Center Diamond Details: It truly is a beautiful stone in person, unusual 6 sided modified kite step cut , clean and has a lot of sparkle - it is a head turner for sure. The diamond was GIA certified recently, it had to go to a specialist in Chicago to remove the diamond due to the diamonds in the prongs and the sapphires - it came back as 2.50 Carat Center Stone, K / VS2 - We have to say that the color of the diamond mounted looks H-I - it really is a looker! GIA Report Number: 2213224401 An estimated 3-3.25 total carat weight (* Diamond & Sapphire gemstones ) On the interior band there is only an inscription: BF To SR June 1925. We have fully xray tested the ring and the metal is high grade Platinum throughout. Amazing engagement ring for the lady that appreciates uniqueness, class and quality. Condition: Excellent condition for it's 95 year age, very well looked after minor abrasions only. Please scroll below for size and weight details.
