Rare Hurst Kingsbury Garnet Sterling Silver Surrealist Brooch

About the Item

An early, rare multi-layered sterling and garnet brooch designed by Joan Hurst and Jill Kingsbury of New York City, New York. This is a large example of their work and has surrealist influence as seen in works by Sam Kramer. The brooch measures 3 1/2" in length by 2 3/4" in width. Signed Hurst Kingsbury, Sterling on the reverse. In very good vintage condition.
