Antique 1900s Ruby 3.48 Carat Diamonds Gold Platinum Pendant Brooch

About the Item

A magnificent and exceptional antique 3.48 carat diamond and 0.53 carat ruby, platinum and 18 karat yellow gold pendant / brooch; part of our diverse antique jewelry collections. This magnificent, fine and impressive ruby and diamond pendant/brooch has been crafted in platinum with an 18k yellow gold ruby setting. The pierced decorated square frame displays a central feature claw set 0.48Ct Old European round cut diamond, set between four fleur-de-lys shaped millegrain decorated settings. The central arrangement is surrounded by a square 18k yellow gold setting ornamented with sixteen square stepped cut natural rubies, totalling 0.53Cts. This stunning pendant brooch is further embellished with millegrain decorated flower and pinnate leaf designs accented with forty-four pavé and bezel set Old European cut diamonds. The exterior border of the piece is encompassed with thirty-six channel set square mine cut diamonds, completing the design. This versatile ruby pendant is suspended from a contemporary 18k white gold hallmarked trace chain via a detachable, flared suspension loop attachment accented with three graduating pavé set Old European cut diamonds. This stunning antique pendant can also be worn as a brooch via a detachable screw fit, hinged pin and clasp fastening; this detachable fitment indicates the high quality of the piece. This fine example of early 1900s craftsmanship is stamped to the reverse with the maker's mark (BILLINGS*). This fine pendant/brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as platinum and 18k gold. The diamond and ruby brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading certificate for the central diamond in addition to an independent diamond grading report card for the supporting stones. NOTE: * BILLINGS - Chester Billings & Son (1897-1910) was the successor to Randel, Baremore & Billings (1880-1897). Based in New York, Billings was also a London diamond importer. Images do not always reflect the true color and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual color and showcases each stone. Condition This magnificent pendant/brooch is exceptional quality, set with natural rubies displaying fine color and brilliance. The very high colour graded diamonds display a fine white color and brilliance. The brooch is a very good gauge of platinum and is in excellent condition, with a clear mark to the reverse of the setting.
