The 1890s bar style brooch is accented with a total of nine seed pearls incorporated within blosson designs to the naturalistic branch. The brooch is ornamented to either end with a yellow gold bird featuring a textured finish replicating the details of the plummage. The brooch secures with a hinged pin and push-pull/trombone safety catch. This antique brooch is hallmarked to the underside of the bar with a maker's mark (GN) and the Austro-Hungarian fox head mark (A, Vienna / 4, 580 standard). Cannetille typically features fine gold wires or thinly hammered sheets. Jewelry with cannetille was very popular in the 1900's, especially in the 1820's and 1830's.
