Torch Cut Brass Birds on Starburst Nail Wall Art Style Seandale, Bowie or Jere

About the Item

Fabulous torch cut brass birds on a horseshoe nail starburst wall art sculpture in the style of Silas Seandel or William Bowie. Comprised of horseshoe nails, brass, and brass braising. Gorgeous vintage condition with normal wear for age. The finish on the birds has dulled a bit and some of the nails have rusted over time. It has a nice warm patina, circa mid-late 20th century. Please see photos. Wow. What a fabulous wall sculpture we have to offer you. Amazing starburst created from horseshoe nails and brass braising and eleven torch cut brass birds The details and creative mastery within this piece are breathtaking…you can almost feel the flow of the birds as their wing’s downstroke across the starburst, destination unknown. Although we have seen this attributed to Curtis Jere in the past, we don’t think so. We are more inclined to attribute this style to Silas Seandel, William Bowie, or Mario Jason. Either way, it’s Brutalist style demands attention and would be magnificent in your industrial loft or modern, contemporary, or Mid-Century Modern home. We are enamored with this awesome wall sculpture and we know you must be too. Make it yours! • Modern Geometric Mixed Metal Dimensional Wall Sculptures by C Jere Series of 4
    By C. Jeré Artisan House
    Located in Topeka, KS
Gorgeous modern series of four geometrical dimensional mixed metal wall sculptures by C. Jere, unsigned but easily documented online. Comprised of steel, brass, and copper. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There are scratches on all 4 sculptures, a ding on one, and we have replaced 2 triangular bent metal pieces. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, late 20th – early 21st century. Oh yeah… it’s hip to be square!! And in this case, that is definitely true!! This is an awesome series of four-square dimensional mixed metal wall sculptures by C. Jere displaying various unique and abstract geometric designs comprised of steel, brass, and copper arranged in the center of each metal square. C. Jere (a.k.a.) Curtis Jere is not a single artist but is a nom-de-plume for a group of artists working for Artisan House and well known for their phenomenal jewelry, metal sculptures, and collectibles. This series of four is a MUST have for any wall that needs a bold statement piece, touch of Modern style, or simply an intriguing, phenomenal piece of artwork! Position them to your preference and change any wall from being bland, to BOOM! They would be wonderful side by side in a row of four however, I envision them stacked one on top of the other in a large square. Maybe over a fireplace, on a wall in a tall entry way, or on a primary wall in your living room. If you’ve been looking for the right touch of Modern or Industrial edge to welcome into your home… you just found it! Artisan House artists included founders Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels and Curtis Jere is a combination of their names. Before founding Artisan House these two friends and brothers-in-law had built a costume jewelry business which sold under the names of Renoir and Matisse, two well-known names of mid-20th century costume jewelry. During the mid-20th century, the C. Jere sculptures, and metal work were distributed by Raymor, a well-known name in mid century collectibles, and sold at Gump’s in San Francisco and other upscale retail establishments. Jerry Fels died 11...
