"Medieval Choir," Art Deco Scene of Harpist and Choir, Incised Bronze Panel

US$2,750Asking Price

Bold and beautiful, this 1920s-era Art Deco bronze panel, probably rescued from an elevator door, shows the influence of medieval architecture and illuminated manuscripts, as well as the stylized geometry and repetition of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. One of several panels available from Renaissance man antiques, the group as a total are celebrating a medieval-influenced Art Deco tower that undoubtedly boasted a lobby adorned with marble, bronze and glass. Beautifully executed in incised and enameled bronze, the workmanship is fine and elegant.
