'L'Age des Perceptions Erronées' Wall Tapestry by David Weeks & Pinton

Edition 1/6 - David Weeks is an American NY based high end lighting designer. Before his residency at Pinton, David Weeks was completely unfamiliar with tapestry-making. After one week of immersion, he understood the warps and wefts. We then forged a drawing David made specially for this project, an exciting exchange between this empassioned creator, our highly skilled workers, and our master cartoonist. This piece is made of wool. The most exceptional and prestigious tapestries have been made on the “basse-lisse” looms of the PINTON workshops since 1867 - including the largest tapestry in the world, “Christ in Glory”, hung in Coventry Cathedral. Having worked with some of the most renowed artists of the 20th century (Pablo Picasso and Alexander Calder), our expert artisans now collaborate and weave for today’s designers and artists (Etel Adnan, Maggi Hambling, Joe Tilson). The traditional expertise of Aubusson is and always has been focused on modernity, innovation and the imagination of the designers. Some of the most renowned artists have combined their talent with that of PINTON for the art of weaving. This art is also an industry. PINTON artisans also demonstrate industrial expertise, enabling them to fulfil orders for the world of luxury interior design. PINTON offers bespoke collections (rugs, tapestries and carpets) that can be customised by the customer or market influencer.
