19th Century Flemish Tapestry

About the Item

A Flemish pictorial tapestry panel from the 19th century, featuring a leisurely domestic scene in a tavern with three men sitting at a table carousing and playing backgammon, while a fourth man cozily smokes a pipe as he sits by the warmth of the fireplace. After an original painting by the Flemish painter David Teniers II (1610-1690), 'Playing at Back Gammon'. Wool with silk inlay. Measures: 6’0” H x 7’1” W. Hanging: The tapestry comes ready for hanging, with linen backing and a strip of hook and loop tape at the top end, which can be connected to the opposite side of the supplied hook and loop tape, which could be tacked to your wall. For those who prefer the use of a tapestry rod, we can add the appropriate size loops to accommodate your needs.
