Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec "Au Cirque"
US$2,200

About
Extremely rare, from an edition of 200, In-folio edited in 1905 by Goupil & Cie, the company of the famous French Art dealer, Adolphe Goupil.
Goupil launched an edition of 200 copies of the 17 most beautiful Toulouse Lautrec’s drawings titled “Au Cirque” meaning “At the Circus”.
This artwork is particularly special because the drawing is dedicated in 1899 to Arsène Alexandre, who was one of the most important art critic and a friend of Alfred Sisley, Auguste Renoir et Claude Monet.
He was also, with Félix Fénéon, the first to use the term “Pointillism” in pictural Art.
Goupil was a leading Art dealer but also one of the best Art publisher specializing in reproductions of paintings and sculptures. He worked with Vincent Van Gogh and his relatives by editing images, prints, lithographs, paintings and sculptures to ending up shining in the industry images, principally in industrial photographic and heliographic procedures.
