18th century Philip James de Loutherbourg Portrait English school miniature etching on paper, of oval shape, set in a black and gold decoration frame. In good condition, original water-colour, French origin, dating back to late 18th century.
Philip James de Loutherbourg was a French-born British painter who became known for his large naval works, his elaborate set designs for London theatres, and his invention of a mechanical theatre called the Eidophusikon.
This artwork It comes from an Italian private collection.
