Original vintage Travel By Train map poster for London Town by the British artist, illustrator and poster designer Kerry Lee (1902-1988) featuring a detailed pictorial map of central London with captions including notable and historical buildings, churches, streets, parks and trees, sports and activities, local characters and tourists, mainline railway stations, markets, the City of London and the River Thames with decorative illustrations framing the map including flags and coat of arms with people from the Commonwealth Empire nations as well as the royal carriage in a royal procession for the State Opening of Parliament and crown above shields bearing the crosses and flags with the Union Jack in the centre at the top and an image of the artist and his dog in the corner at the bottom, issued by Southern Railway for their rail services from the South and West to London including travel by London Underground in town, promoting London's past and present including Pageantry, Displays Exhibitions Museums Sporting and Social Events Amusements Entertainments and attractions of every kind all to hand by London's Underground. Large size. Horizontal. Good condition, restored tears, restored folds, staining, backed on linen.
