Large and original silver gelatin print by Julius Shulman (American, b. 1910-2009). Print is signed in white ink and dated 1948. This is a very rare and unique print from an exhibit curated by Julius Shulman in 1986 and is not from any editions. Photograph is in original mat and frame from exhibit. Print measures: 19 x 15. Marked on reverse, "Sokol House", Silverlake Boulevard, Richard J. Neutra, 1948.
The photographer Julius Shulman began his career in 1936 with a commission from Richard Neutra, and he is acknowledged as the foremost American photographer of modernist architecture. His archive of negatives is now held by the Getty Institute of Los Angeles. Original 16 x 20 gallery prints of Shulman work are exceptionally rare.
