About the Item
An impressive large mixed-media painting on canvas by Texas artist Vera Simons, ca 1998.
The gallery wrapped canvas features a wide dimensional band of finer canvas collaged down the centre, pinched and pulled into long grooves that carry a waterfall effect. The backing canvas is painted in a flat pink-mauve color. Rich blue and purple tones dominate the heart of the piece, with layered application of warmer hues spreading out from the center. Titled "Trajectory XVIII El Morro".
Generally great condition, some marks and wear along the edges, one long obvious light mark in the lower right quarter of the canvas (last picture).
***Vera Simons was an American based, German born artist who's work was sold at Christie's and other respected establishments.
