About the Item

Ettore Roesler Franz ( Rome 1845 - Rome 1907), "Terrace of Villa D'este, of Tivoli" A delightful "Watercolorist". In 1875 he was the founder of the "Societa' Degli Acquarellisti in Roma (Roman Watercolorist Society). He portrayed the most characteristic of the City corners in a picturesque watercolor series of Rome; later sold to the City of Rome and now kept in a permanent exhibition at the Museo di Roma (Rome Museum), also the Sydney Museum in Australia retains one of his landscapes. Another important listed example of his works is Villa D'Este of Tivoli that he reproduced in many different ways. He frequently exhibited in England (London), Germany ( Munich, Berlin, Dresda), Russia (St. Petersburg) between 1875 and 1902. Reference: E.
