A stunning o/canvas by Jhon Frederick Herring Senior, circa 1840, signed and with a label from Cardiff in the back of the work of art. Carved and golded original frame. " stabile with horse"
Measurement: 85 x 55 cm without the frame and 100 x 86 cm with.
Jhon Frederick Herring was a very important Victorian animals painter (1795 -1865)
In 1845 he was named animal painter of the Duchess of Kent .
With a great naturalism in the representation of the horse and its surroundings!!!
