This mural features an impressively sized fossilized palm frond, an Eocene era fossil dating back circa 50 million years. Plant life often produces some of the most aesthetic Green River Formation fossils we have prepared over the years; due to the delicate nature of the material, fine and large examples of plant life are exceptionally rare. At a size of nearly 6.5', this massive palm leaf is a spectacular find. The mural measures approximately 6.7 feet high by 6.25 feet across. It is fully backed with wood and it includes a handmade custom Wengé wood frame which compliments the fossil color beautifully. Today the petrified lake has transformed into a stunning quarry of fossils, embedding the past into layers of stone. This is famously known as the Green River Formation. The beautifully preserved fossils are meticulously excavated from our private quarry and then prepared by our leading experts in fossil preparation and preservation.
