  • Tall Side-Table or Artwork Pedestal, Found Wood and Various Materials, Painted
    By John Seubert
    Located in Chicago, IL
Made from found and reclaimed wood, each of John Seubert's Crash Tables are unique and meticulously crafted. He calls them Crash Tables because they are a collision of parts created from table legs, stair railings, chair backs, etc. which are mitered together to form a solid construction. Once assembled, the table is painted and then distressed to give it an antiqued appearance. Created from salvaged and recycled materials, this pedestal table represents the utmost in sustainable design. "Less Talk, More Work" is painted with a blue grey paint and also boast four drawers painted in white paint. Each drawer's antique library storage finger pull is adorned with the words stamped on metal: Less, Talk, More, Work. Following several noise complaints from the neighbors, John had a dream that he was living in a ramshackle house but with plenty of room to work and no attached neighbors. The following day after lunching at the McDonalds in Lincoln Park, John wandered the neighborhood a came upon a shabby, falling-down old Victorian house. He located the real estate agent...
