Unusual George III Inlaid Rosewood and Specimen Wood Parquetry Work Table

About the Item

Unusual George III inlaid rosewood and specimen wood parquetry work table, circa 1800. The hinged rectangular parquetry top inlaid with specimen woods in a lattice pattern and over a simulated frieze drawer fitted with a keyhole and raised on square tapering legs joined by a concave box-stretcher. Various timbers include: satinwood, ebony, kingwood, and burr yew with boxwood stringing throughout. (Lacking original slide and bag). Measures: 18.5" wide x 15" deep x 28.5" high Provenance: Private Collection, Southampton, NY Hyde Park Antiques, Ltd, New York.
