Sewing Table in Birchen Burl, circa 1870

About the Item

We present you this sewing table in birchen burl. The apron is rectangular, placed on two openwork supports that are finished with a volute, and connected with a cross bar. There is a drawer in the shape of a reversed trapezoid under the apron. Moreover, the outer part of the drawer is covered with a crinkly fabric. The top panel is liftable; with a wavy, profiled edge. The inside is two-layer, with a removable insert with compartments. From the front of the apron, there is a gouged floral decoration. Presented piece of furniture is after a renovation; French-polished.
