French 17th Century Moulin, Grain Grinding Billot

About the Item

A sensational Arte Populaire Billot used for grinding grains, corn, wheat, etc. It is constructed from a massive billot, chopping block with an iron band around the top so that ground grains would not fall off. There are many iron pieces embedded into the surface of the block. The ground grains would fall out the square opening seen on the top. A sensational Folk Art piece that serves wonderfully as an occasional table for any primitive environment.
