Desk, Elm Wood, Osvaldo Borsani, 1953

About the Item

Minimal and elegant desk with drawer. Solid wood construction, take top made of solid elm wood, legs with wooden screw thread. Exhibited at Trienale Milano 1954. Osvaldo Borsani was born in 1911 in Italy. He studied architecture at the Polytechnic Institure of Milan until 1937. During his studies, he won the silver medal with the Casa Minima project for the Milan Triennial. Then, he worked with his father Gaetano Borsani for the familial company. In 1953, he decided to found the Tecno company with his twin brother Fulgenzio and met with great success thanks to an impressive technical. The company also produced pieces of furniture for great names of Italian design including Gio Ponti and Mario Bellini. Borsani is also one of the founder of the famous review of design Ottagno.
