Early 19th Century Swedish Carved Wood Desk Table with Drawer

About the Item

A Swedish desk table with sliding top from the early 19th century. This antique table from Sweden has an overhung, rectangular-shaped top, above a decoratively carved apron which houses a single drawer. The table is raised on four thickly squared legs, which are braced within a box-stretcher along the lower perimeter. The top is sliding, allowing it to be moved forward so that this piece could be used as a desk (giving clearance for seating in front.) This rustic piece has a natural wood finish, beautifully aged with patina proudly displaying it's rich history of use. This early 19th century Swedish farm table would function perfectly as additional work space within a kitchen, or perhaps as a desk in a study.
