17th Century French Louis XIV Walnut Writing Table

About the Item

Louis XIV writing table with fine form and having a Sotheby's New York auction house label. The table with a rectangular plank top over a long frieze drawer with carved knob pulls and carved lower edge. Raised on finely turned legs, the stretcher with shaped ends and carved center finial, all with bun feet. L. 40 1/2", Depth 24 3/4", H. 31 1/2" Condition: Please see detail photos. There is an old repair to the top and old gouges and stains, all expected with age and use, chip to one leg, crack in one foot, losses to base finish, worn drawer edges mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is authentic and fine.
