About the Item
An Elegant and Timeless French Art Deco Console by Edgar Brandt in hand hammered wrought iron with an inset top of French Jura Limestone. This important piece is characteristic of Brandt and the French Art Deco period with its organic, rhythmic, lyrical form both at the base and apron. It is delicately hand hammered with the detailed hammer marks forming an integral part of the composition, patina and aesthetic of the piece. Brandt was the most important ironworker / designer of the French Art Deco period and he has created a master composition of poise, balance and raw beauty in this piece.
