French 18th Century Giltwood Console Table with Red Marble Top, Louis XV Period

About the Item

A French Louis XV period carved wood console table with marble top from the 18th century. This French console table features a shaped veined marble top sitting over a very fine and rich carved wooden base. The center of the apron showcases a bird of the Louis XV period, flanked with delicate leaves garlands. The sides are adorned with C-scrolls resting on two nicely curved legs. As beautiful as the marble top and apron are, the stretcher is very delicate as well with a nice carved movement typical from Louis the XV period beautifully embellished with flowers and leaves. Made to be secured against a wall, this Louis XV console table is a major piece in a room, perhaps placed under a giltwood mirror in a foyer or living room.
