About the Item
French designers Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet were committed to a design ethos based on accessible materials as a means of serving modern life. In reaction to the Paris Exposition des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels of 1925, which they deemed to cater to a wealthy elite they set to ground their designs in something more homespun, even rustic. Their designs for Vibo Vesoul, produced using seagrass rope cord, became their leitmotiv – now highly sought after.
This low table sums up their humble ambitions, using the natural beauty of oak and rope. The rope and frame have been kept is their original condition, with beautiful patina, minor markings and discoloration to the wood’s surface.
