Table / Mahet´si Table

About the Item

Mahet'si is a word of origin Otomie or Hña Hñu that means Sky, The Otomies or Nña Hñus are an ethnic population that is found in the states of Mexico, Hidalgo and Querétaro. It is very possible that the ancestors of the Otomíes have occupied the center of Mexico for at least five millennia, for what they would have participated in the flourishing of the first Mesoamerican cities. It is a rectangular center table that was thought of as a constellation because it joins moments, it is to be used in a room as a meeting point and is projected essentially in a material that rescues a tradition such as the porcelain sheet called Pewter, is largely used of the cover and the circles are perfect cuts with laser for there to insert 12 wooden circles in the manner of marquetry that go down to the floor in a conical shape and become the legs, the union of these circles is an impression in gold or serifigraphy platinum on the pewter cover, this gives an additional real value and metaphorical since it is the value of the union of people. The objective is to rescue the manufacture of the porcelain sheet through contemporary design fused with technology to result in a piece of great aesthetic value in limited series with different colors at the same time that represents a work that will last for several generations as sustainability. Measures: 110 cms. long x 70 cms. of width x 36 cms. of height x 3 cms. of thickness. 4 conical legs of poplar or poplar wood of 10 cms. of diameter and 8 legs of 5 cms. diameter.
