Vintage Brunswick Bowling Aluminum Bistro Tables
About the Item
We have a total of three of these 29 inch high 36 inch round pedestal refreshment tables from the now defunct Bowl-O-Mat in Beverly, Massachusetts produced by Brusnwick Corporation in 1962. During the preceding year there was a business combination between Brunswick and entities owned by Carl Kiekhaefer including the factories of Aeromarine Motors, Inc. and Murray Outboard Motors which had sophisticated tooling and equipment for the production of aluminum. The 1962-1963 Brunswick catalog was a Space Age fantasy of Eero Saarinen and the Jetsons go bowling! These tables have heavy cast polished aluminum tulip bases configured with tapered aluminum conical stems supporting 36 inch round melamine tops banded with aluminum. The laminate tops are a very light green.
We have had two of the three remaining tables professionally stripped and polished to a near chrome finish. One of these tables at present has the conical stem enameled its original dark green. We can have it stripped and polished to match the other two.
These were built to last a lifetime. Not your average cafe table.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. These have been used in a bowling center for 55 years but look remarkably well for their age, still the edges of the laminate tops show wear. It would be a worthwhile investment to rehab or replace the tops.
