Showcase mahogany and mahogany veneer nineteenth time and gilded bronze, in very good condition, stamped on the back of the furniture, beautiful furniture quality Faubourg st Antoine bets Antoine Krieger, cabinetmaker, practice with his brother Nicolas from 1826 to 1850 under the name "House Krieger" before leaving his house to his sons-in-law who became "Antoine Krieger et Cie" from 1850-1856. This company, installed in the marsh in Paris won a medal at the Exhibition of London in 1852.

Master on June 12, 1771. Jean-Nicolas Blanchard known as "the young" was received at his master's degree in 1771 and took over the workshop of his brother Sylvain, on the latter's death, a workshop located rue de Cléry under the sign of "White cat". He became one of the suppliers of the Palace of Versailles and very quickly acquired a very great reputation. He produced large Louis XV style armchairs as well as Transition seats and Louis XVI armchairs, more classic but always of good quality, with noble lines and a perfect finish. He adorned his works with sculptures of roses, foliage, flower garlands, knots of ribbons and acanthus, sculptures of extreme finesse without ever the slightest overload. He also worked for many renowned upholsterers such as the Presle brothers. It ceased its activities some time before the Revolution but it is still mentioned under the Directory.     This is an Empire style gilt bronze mounted wood, glass and marble top heavy and large vitrine/curio cabinet. The wide tapered rectangular vitrine has four glass walls framed with wood. The front door is one of them and it is beveled. It is decorated with a gilt mounted bronze garland of roses, mixed of flowers and foliage at the top and bottom area. At the top center, there is a gilt bronze shell and at the bottom a Wedgwood light blue porcelain round plaque with a cherub that is carving a piece of stone. Above the plaque, a large gilt bronze bow is decorating the curio cabinet. There are scrolls of acanthus leaves adorning each side of the upper top corners of the door. A gilt bronze swag made of laurel leaves branches with a bow in the center embellish the frieze of each one of the sides, and its corners are also decorated with scrolls of acanthus leaves with a garland of buds hanging from them. There are also some gilt beads chain ornaments decorating the wood part of the sides. The cornice is adorned with a bronze border made of carved acanthus leaves. The upper part of the curio cabinet is covered by a heavy light pink with grey veins marble top. To support the vitrine there are four gilt heavy bronze lion paws decorated with large acanthus leaves and a pair of laurel branches at the upper part of them. These acanthus leaves are spreading toward the lower front border and forming an arc. There are four adjustable thick glass shelves inside the curio cabinet and a lower one made of wood that is covered with a light yellow color Damask fabric.
