Record Cabinet Open/Close Credenza for Analog Stereo LPs, Vinyl Media Sideboard

About

The Open/Close Series references mid-century album storage and Hi-Fi style, but is updated for the needs of the 21st century music lover. The Open/Close features four soft-closing drawers for albums and two shelves for components. A center slide-out shelf provides a convenient surface for hooking up digital devices as you store your music downloads. The rear panel is always vented to keep tubes and components cool and also makes cord access easy. The beauty of our Open/Close Series is the access you finally have to your music collection. The "Open" area allows you to pre-select records when you entertain. Additionally, it offers space for "next in queue" selections, odd-size box sets, and new purchases. The "Closed" area has every record sorted upright and face-forward in soft-touch gliding drawers, so you can flip through albums quickly and easily while, most importantly, being able to look at the cover art. The Open/Close Series frees you from being stuck on the first 10 records at the front of the your stack - you can rediscover those forgotten albums that were hard to reach in the back and hadn't been played in forever. The interior open shelving size is 18 1/4" W x 6 5/8" H x 19 7/8/" D. The component you place inside must be smaller than these dimensions to fit inside. The back venting cutout is: 16" w x 5 1/4" h, which is a generous size and should allow for easy connecting of your gear from the back, and plenty of room to let heat escape.

“Atocha Design consolidates all the creature comforts and necessities of a lifestyle that happens after five o'clock into a singular design statement,” states founder/designer Jennifer Atocha of Atocha Design. It is essential to unplug from the work world after an ever-longer day and refuel our souls—to listen to music, enjoy a drink with friends, or pore over album cover art. Inspired by the Op Art of the '60s and the Memphis Movement of the '80s, the No Wave series features bold, monochromatic wood stripes—classical, retro, and modern at once. The Record Cabinet Series is influenced by casework produced in the mid century. Her furniture designs are unique in allowing the user to flip through albums face first, emphasizing album cover art over spines, thereby functionally organizing, and stylishly displaying, their music collection, all with proportion and scale in mind. Music, relaxation, and lively conversation are brought into our living space through our furniture pieces, crafted by Atocha’s point of view both visually and philosophically. The owner engages with the design, finding joy from having what they love at their fingertips. Jennifer Atocha is a New York City-based designer. Her studio, Atocha Design, founded in 2008, joins her passions to create a very personal line of modern furniture, entirely made to order in New York. Custom projects are always welcome. The studio has been featured in T Magazine, Vogue, Los Angeles Times & more.
