1950s White Cherrywood Sideboard Wallmounted by Philippon / Lecoq

US$29,558.79

About

Sideboard with four elemnts and white lacquered doors designed by Antoine Philippon and Jacqueline Lecoq. The corpus is cherrywood; the inlay in maple features a big storage area with shelves on one side and additional two drawers on the other side. Manufactured by Bofinger. Philippon and Leqoc shared a fruitful life-long cooperation after their shared studies in Paris. Their main goal and breach with the times norms was to offer beauty and quality to the broadest audience possible. With their almost puritanical sense for functionalism free from all ornamentalism without compromising humanness, warmth and harmony, they were an extraordinary example of the genre of French Modernism which included also Joseph-André Motte, Pierre Guariche, René-Jean Caillett and Demish Danant Gallery.
