English Scarlet Gilt and Polychrome Japanned Secretary

About the Item

A marvelous 18th century scarlet gilt and poly chrome secretary later Japanned. This English secretary has a double domed cornice over a pair of mirrored doors opening to fitted interior compartments. The lower case includes a slant front writing surface and also contains a fitted interior. This all sits over two aligned drawers, two graduated drawers and bracket feet. Signed "Cardier". (lower right side of bottom drawer)
