Baroque Secretaire, Bern ‘Switzerland’ 1750, Attribute to Mathaeus Funk

About the Item

Exquisite 18th century Baroque secretaire, Bern (Switzerland) 1750, attributed to Mathaeus Funk (cabinetmaker 1697-1783). Rectangular body with two drawers and slightly convex front, foldable desk with eleven drawers and one compartment. Original fittings. The inside of the drawers is covered with 18th century paste paper. Funk was well known to cover the inside of the drawers of his furniture pieces with paste paper. (So called: “Herrnhuter Kleisterpapier”). The secretaire will be shipped from Germany, shipping costs to Boston are included. Shipping with the US can be arranged.
