Pair 19th Century Swedish Gustavian Painted Wood Chests on Tapered Legs

About

A pair of antique Swedish Gustavian painted wood chests from the early 19th century, with beautiful classic long tapered fluted legs, original hardware and original pull-out writing shelves. Lovely Swedish Blue Gray distressed paint finish. Born in Sweden at the end of the Gustavian period, each of this pair of chests features two large drawers, raised on four tapered fluted feet. The chests are painted in a light color, typical of the Scandinavian taste for soft palettes, aiming at brightening the homes of Sweden during the long, dark winters. With its clean lines and classical décor typical of the Gustavian era, this pair of antique chests will bring a touch of relaxed elegance to any home, particularly in a bedroom or living room. 34 1/2" high 20" deep 39" long.
